Yoder Drives In 5 To Lead Fairfield Varsity Falcons Past Jimtown Varsity Jimmies

Yoder drove in five runs on three hits to lead Fairfield Varsity Falcons past Jimtown Varsity Jimmies 14-2 on Monday at Jimtown High School. Yoder singled in the first scoring two, singled in the third scoring two, and singled in the fourth scoring one. Fairfield Varsity Falcons opened the scoring in the first after Yoder singled, scoring two runs. Jimtown Varsity Jimmies scored one run in the bottom of the first on a solo home run to left field by Gillespie. Fairfield Varsity Falcons scored six runs on four hits in the top of the second inning. Ross singled, scoring one run, Jones singled, scoring two runs, Caouette doubled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run. Fairfield Varsity Falcons scored five runs on five hits in the top of the third inning. Spencer grounded out, scoring one run, Yoder singled, scoring two runs, and Caouette doubled, scoring two runs. Mast earned the win for Fairfield Varsity Falcons. The starter surrendered four hits and two runs over five innings, striking out four and walking two. Winrott took the loss for Jimtown Varsity Jimmies. The pitcher went one inning, giving up seven runs on four hits, striking out one and walking five. Fairfield Varsity Falcons piled up 14 hits in the game. Ross, Caouette, Spencer, and Mast each collected multiple hits for Fairfield Varsity Falcons. Jones led Fairfield Varsity Falcons with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting eight walks for the game. Jones stole two bases. Winrott and Gillespie were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Jimtown Varsity Jimmies.
