SYRACUSE, IN — The Fairfield Boys Golf team put together a gritty performance on Saturday, securing a third-place finish at the Wawasee Invitational held at the challenging Maxwelton Golf Club. While the team race was tight, the individual story of the day belonged to Fairfield’s Jake Elliot. Elliot turned in a masterful performance, firing an even-par 72 to claim the title of Low Medalist. His ability to navigate Maxwelton’s undulating greens proved to be the difference-maker, as he outpaced the field to take home the top individual honor. Team Performance Fairfield showed impressive consistency across the board, with the scoring lineup hovering in the low-to-mid 80s to keep the Falcons in contention for a podium spot. Jayce Smith provided a strong anchor for the middle of the lineup with an 81, while Brett Schrock followed closely behind with an 85. The collective effort allowed Fairfield to edge out several conference rivals, proving they have the depth to compete in high-stakes invitational environments.
